Anita comes to Earnscliffe with over two decades of governance experience. She is a systems thinker with a proven ability to work across jurisdictions and build bridges.
Prior to joining Earnscliffe, Anita was Chief of Staff to the former Mayor of Vancouver where she facilitated decision-making across partisan divides, including annual budget decisions. She understands the challenges facing governments and the importance of collaboration in tackling tough issues.
As a senior leader in BC’s labour movement for 15 years, Anita provided government relations, communications, and strategic organizing advice that resulted in positive program, policy and legislative change. She understands the ecosystem of the non-profit, public, and private sectors and how to relate to government. Additionally, Anita has been active in electoral politics at the municipal, provincial and federal levels for more than two decades.
Anita has been a board member of the Vancouver Public Library and the Pacific National Exhibition. She currently volunteers as a board member (and member of the violin section) of a symphony orchestra.
Anita is the proud mom of two teenagers and enjoys spending time in the natural beauty of the traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) people, where she has lived most of her life.
