Principal, Digital Strategy

Our Principals play a vital role in leading our client teams and ensuring high-value, excellent client service. This position focuses primarily on business development and the management our Digital Strategy & Creative Services team. This position will report directly to the Digital Lead with responsibilities including but not exclusive to the following:

Business development

  • Responsible for developing and executing a business development strategy to raise Earnscliffe’s digital service profile publicly, aligned with respective service offering and expertise.
  • Determine market opportunities and develop strategies in support of digital and creative service sales.
  • Coordinate and develop pitch materials and proposals in support of digital services and creative design sales opportunities.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to expand the scope of service offerings within existing client accounts.
  • Meet annual business development and sales targets.

Client service and team management

  • Responsible for the strategy, oversight, and execution of multi-channel paid digital campaign, content planning and digital auditing services for an array of clients in the public, private and not-for-profit space.
  • Experience developing digital strategy, channel plans and audience targeting strategies across paid and owned channels to support and make appropriate recommendations for client campaigns.
  • Understanding of paid advertising tools within Facebook/Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube/Google, Twitter and other social media channels, programmatic digital advertising, traditional ad buying and analytics tools.
  • Management of the digital strategy team including mentorship, ensuring roles and responsibilities are fulfilled, a high level of client servicing is provided, as well as an efficient use of project time and scope according to budget.
  • Responsible for developing creative strategy, reviewing and providing input into advertising content and overarching direction in connection to digital placements.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continued learning and upskilling on digital marketing trends, best practices, and platforms.
  • Contribute an informed perspective within the client team and to the client, as needed.
  • Accountable for the oversight of the client accounts, including invoicing, managed revenue splits, sales credits, etc.

Qualifications

  • Minimum post-secondary degree/ diploma preferred
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience working in a similar role or within a professional services consulting firm preferable within digital communications, marketing, creative strategy.
  • Demonstrated experience effectively leading multiple projects/files, including the ability to prioritize and negotiate when presented with conflicting demands.
  • Experienced at building and fostering high performance teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully undertake business development activities in pursuit of developing a book of business.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications, comfortable with presenting concepts to a diverse audience across the organization.
  • Ability to identify and respond appropriately understanding various parties and stakeholders involved in decision making processes with the ability to anticipate reactions and recommend solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with peers, direct reports, internal and external stakeholders, including media vendors
  • Proficiency with CRM systems or Salesforce and Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Power Point, etc.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making abilities to make sound recommendations based on research, analytics and translating data into tangible outcomes and actions.
  • Effective time management skills to manage timelines while working under pressure.

Consultant, Digital

Earnscliffe Strategies is looking for a digital consultant with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in digital communications, social media and advertising, preferably within an agency environment, to join our growing Digital Practice.

The consultant will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of digital programs, social media content and reporting on analytics across multiple platforms and must stay on top of digital trends.

Qualifications

  • Relevant educational background, preferably in digital media, public relations, advertising, or communications
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of digital marketing experience[MB1] , agency experience preferable.
  • Experience developing an audience targeting strategy across paid and owned channels to support and make appropriate recommendations for client campaigns
  • Understanding of paid advertising tools within Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and other social media channels, programmatic digital advertising and traditional ad buying, required.
  • Ability to manage a variety of analytics platforms (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics), tag management (Adobe Launch, Google Tag Manager) accounts and social listening tools (Meltwater, Sprout Social, Brandwatch, Talkwalker etc.)
  • Experience managing and curating brand/client social content library, graphics, video assets and the trafficking of content to on time and in full delivery of those completed assets.
  • Experience and interest in analyzing performance and producing insights that provide actionable outcomes and not just metrics reports (social media activity, website analytics, podcasts, newsletters, emails, etc.)
  • Excellent writing and editing skills for social media and web content.
  • Interest in social media content planning, creative idea generation and following digital trends.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables concurrently.
  • Highly organized and ability to adhere to budgets and timelines.
  • Highly accountable and organized with excellent time management skills.

Consultant, Opinion Research

The Opinion Research Team serves clients by conducting quantitative and qualitative research studies and is responsible for every aspect of each study from design to delivering the insights that satisfy client’s needs and helps them establish and/or achieve their strategic objectives.

The company’s Opinion Research Consultants play a vital role in supporting our Opinion Research Principals in the delivery of our service to clients. The duties of an Opinion Research Consultant vary considerably. Here is a brief overview of what the duties include:

Responsibilities

  • Manage competing priorities of multiple projects with varying complexities while meeting firm deadlines;
  • Assist Senior Consultants and Principals in proposal writing/assembly, research design, data collection, data analysis and report preparation, including proofreading and formatting;
  • Assist in the development of implementation schedules;
  • Perform vital quality assurance roles;
  • Assist with project management, including liaising with suppliers. and assist with a diverse mix of Opinion Research projects as required;
  • Collaborate to achieve consistency, alignment and continuous improvement in processes, work quality and effectiveness;
  • Act as liaison between project teams and on internal projects; and
  • General administrative and logistical support and planning, including customer relations management responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Two to three years practical experience in public opinion research firm/role managing multiple client files for quantitative and qualitative research;
  • Have a university degree (post-graduate preferred) in social science, psychology, marketing, commerce, political science or another relevant field;
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have graduated from an accredited opinion research or market research certificate or specialized program at a Canadian post-secondary institution;
  • Writing and editing skills with the ability to distill complex or detailed information into concise messages that resonate with the audience and inspire action;
  • Expertise with the data analysis applications SPSS and/or Q;
  • Familiarity with data collection platforms such as SurveyMonkey or Recollective;
  • Proficiency with working in Apple OS/iOS products and with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Excel (and G-Suite materials); Microsoft Teams; social media platforms; web-based and in-person engagement, administration and monitoring tools;
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including fluency in written and spoken English;
  • Fluency in written and spoken French preferred;
  • Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives;
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
