Anna Lilly is a Principal at Earnscliffe Strategies in Vancouver. With 25 years of experience in media, government and communications, she is one of British Columbia’s most sought-after public affairs strategists.  

Anna specializes in local government affairs, having worked with and for municipal and regional governments to support the development of critical infrastructure, public transit and housing. In the private sector, Anna has led a variety of communications and public affairs initiatives for clients in the transportation, healthcare, natural resources, recycling, retail and real estate sectors.  

Anna has a successful track record supporting senior executives, boards of directors and government officials to convey key messages and tell compelling stories that persuade and inspire their target audiences. Her background includes experience developing external and internal communication strategies to support major project developments, mergers and acquisitions, financial and ESG reporting, labour relations and corporate reorganizations.  

Anna began her career as a journalist and editor with Business in Vancouver Media Group before moving into corporate communications and working in local government as the Director of Community Relations and Communications for former Vancouver Mayor Sam Sullivan. Prior to joining Earnscliffe, she spent 15 years consulting to local, national and international organizations at one of the world’s largest communications agencies. 

Anna’s work has won several awards, including a 2012 Gold Quill award from the International Association of Business Communicators for Issues Management and Crisis Communications, the 2011 Investor and Financial Relations Campaign of the Year awarded by the Canadian Public Relations Society, and the Grand Prix at the 2011 Internationalist Awards for Innovation in Media. 

Anna has been a leader in Vancouver’s non-profit sector as a director and volunteer with organizations including YWCA, United Way of British Columbia and the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association. Through her involvement in women’s organizations, Anna has provided training in leadership, public speaking and media relations to young professionals and candidates running for public office throughout British Columbia.  

Anna is a graduate of the Journalism and Public Relations program at Kwantlen Polytechnic University and is currently studying Community Planning.
