Nikki Hill joined Earnscliffe in 2018 as a public engagement and campaign expert with over 20 years of experience in politics, strategic communications and government relations.
Nikki has strong relationships with opinion leaders across Canada after a decade of executive roles within the non-profit sector. Most recently she was part of the senior management team at United Way of the Lower Mainland, one of the largest charities in BC. Her accomplishments included building partnerships on social issues with private and public sector unions across the country, as well as supporting corporate clients in meeting their social responsibility goals. Nikki spearheaded the formation of a cross-departmental digital strategies team at United Way to develop new tactics to effectively communicate impact and community need.
Prior to joining United Way, Nikki was the Executive Director for the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society BC Chapter, where she simultaneously led government relations and strategic communications for over a dozen conservation campaigns while working with indigenous communities, business and local stakeholders.
As a senior executive with the BC New Democratic Party for over 10 years, Nikki led province-wide campaigns, training and public outreach initiatives for provincial and federal elections. Her expertise in coalition building and developing winning issue campaigns was critical to the revitalization of the BC NDP in the 2005 election. In addition to her work in Canadian politics, she has trained international political parties and elected officials on capacity building, strategic planning and voter engagement. Nikki has since coached executives and candidates in media relations, public speaking and campaign tactics.
Nikki worked for the BC NDP government in BC in the 1990s coordinating initiatives across Ministries to increase diversity on public agencies, boards and commissions. Having acted as an advisor and campaign manager for civic, provincial and federal politicians throughout her career, she continues to volunteer in leadership roles within the NDP.
Nikki has a degree in political science from the University of British Columbia and an Associate Certificate in Non-Profit Management from BCIT. Her interest in public engagement, digital campaigns and organizational management has led her to multiple programs at other institutions and to stay up to date on emerging trends.
