Based in Saskatchewan, Doug Richardson recently joined the Earnscliffe team to provide support for clients working in the province. Doug has been practicing law in Saskatchewan since 1976 and is a senior partner and past Chairman of one of Saskatchewan’s oldest law firms, McKercher LLP. He was also named by Sask Business as one of the 10 most influential people in the province.

Doug has extensive political experience, having worked in Ottawa as an advisor to the Justice, Energy and Finance Ministers as well as Chief of Staff to the Leader of Her Majesty’s Loyal Opposition from 1985 – 1987. He has also worked on and chaired national campaigns.

He is a director of several privately held companies, formerly a director of Crown Corporations SaskTel, and SGI (Saskatchewan Government Insurance). He is a member of the Board of Historica Canada and presently the Chair of The Canadiana Fund. He also was the principal of a family owned business with real estate assets in Western Canada and the Northern United States.

Doug has raised funds for numerous community and charitable organizations, among them: the YMCA, YWCA, St. Thomas More College, Kinsmen Clubs of Canada, Ronald McDonald House, Lung Association, Red Cross, United Way, the University of Saskatchewan, the Saskatchewan Brain Injury Association and Persephone Theatre.
