Don Stickney joined Earnscliffe Strategy Group in July 2013. Don has extensive experience working with clients at the policy, political and operational levels of government. He has executed many successful public affairs campaigns in the natural resource, environment, health, education and agricultural sectors.
For more than a decade, Don has advised corporate, not-for-profit, industry association and government leaders. He has led public affairs programs that have involved detailed stakeholder, regulatory and economic policy work for the upstream and downstream petroleum products, natural gas and mining industries. He has also developed strategic communications campaigns to address First Nations, local and environmental questions related to greenfield and brownfield resource development.
During his career, Don has played a leading strategic role in many health policy assignments, with a focus on pharmaceutical reimbursement programs, medical scope of practice changes, pharmacy and physician fee adjustments, drug negotiations strategy, and pan-Canadian procurement for medical supplies and drugs. Prior to joining Earnscliffe, Don was appointed Vice President, Public Affairs and Government Relations at one of North America’s leading strategic communications and public affairs firms.
Before his consulting career began, Don served in the federal government as a senior policy advisor to a number of federal Cabinet Ministers.
Don earned a degree in political science from the University of British Columbia and is an active participant of party politics in BC.
